Ex principal Sandip Ghosh of Kolkata R G Kar Medical College and Hospital has been arrested on a corruption case yesterday. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigated upon the college’s financial deformity at the institute especially at the procurement of materials for patient’s essentials. Apart from Ghosh CBI also arrested vendor Biplav Singha, vendor Suman Hazara, and Afsar Ali.

CBI lodged an FIR against Sandip Ghosh on allegations of corruption in the institute after Calcutta High Court directed the CBI to investigate the case. Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Calcutta High Court submitted necessary documents regarding the case at the CBI office, Nizam Palace. CBI lodged FIR after receiving those documents. Ex principal Sandip Ghosh was scrutinized thoroughly upon the rape and murder of R G Kar PG doctor.

Indian Medical Association (IMA) suspended Dr. Sandip Ghosh’s membership last week. Ghosh resigned from his post after three days the PG trainee was murdered.
